Creating shelters with basket twining

Soft Connection Lab provided tools and techniques to connect with the residents and neighbors of the Guislain Museum and Psychiatric Institute.

During the project week in the autumn of 2022, Soft Connection Lab was invited to guide students from Fashion and Autonomous Design to work on a collaborative project with the residents and neighbors of the Guislain Museum and Psychiatric Center.

One of the techniques that was demonstrated to the students and used as a tool to create connection between the different participants was the gesture of twining. Together with in total twelve to eighteen hands the students created twined shelters.
